Excited about my new crafting room

My husband and I are currently in the process of buying our first home. Yesterday it finally clicked in my head that I'm going to be a homeowner. My favorite part? I'm going to have my own crafting room! I am very excited about this....as currently my Cricut and all my other supplies are taking over our dining room. I'm sure some of you can relate to this in one way or another.

Here's what my craft room in our new house currently looks like. It is located on the lower level...which currently is very roughed in. This is super exciting, because it is basically a blank slate. I'm excited to start from scratch and make an awesome room where I can let my creativity run wild!

Obviously, the first thing to go is the dark paint color. The room doesn't have a window and adding a window isn't an option due to the grade of the land around the house. A lighter paint color and lots of lighting will go a long way, I think.

On the right side of the picture, you can see part of a very roughed in closet. This closet will be filled with lots of storage...not only for my crafting, but also for the rest of the house (this house sucks for storage space!).

We're not moving for a little over a month, but I'm getting my creative juices flowing now so that I can be ready to jazz this place up once we move in :)

I would love to hear about YOUR crafting rooms :) Tell me what your favorite part of it is....what color you choose for the walls...did you stick with a theme?....I want to know everything! I might even use some of your ideas for my own room ;)

Have a great Monday everyone!

Quick Cards This Morning

I had a few extra minutes this morning, so I thought I would throw a couple cards together really quick.

Nuts about you! I really like how this card turned out!

Thinking of you. This card is super plain and gave me a little more difficulty. Looking back now, I should have cut the butterfly smaller. That would have been easier :)

Dinosaurs, Sunshine, and Cows!

I just wanted to share a couple really simple cards I made this morning.

A little over a week ago, I got a set of My Pink Stamper stamps that I had won from Lisa at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon. This stamp set led to the purchase of the Create A Critter cartridge :) Hahaha...my husband is slowly getting used to me "needing" different cartridges! Yesterday was a good mail day at my house...I got my Create A Critter cartridge that I ordered on Monday. Super excited to make lots of projects with it!

First, a birthday card for my husband's nephew, who turned 7 yesterday. I followed the card example in the front of the cartridge booklet, but made an A-2 sized card instead (since I already have those envelopes). A pretty basic card...not much too it. I kept it simple this time because obviously 7 year old boys don't care about bows and glitter :)

Then I made another fun card, just for the heck of it :)
Lastly, I made a cutesy fun card

I hope everyone has an amazing weekend ~ Filled with lots of crafting ;)

Busy Making Cards...

It's been awhile since I've been able to upload some of the things I've been working on. This post is to catch everyone up on what I've been doing. I've got to say that having a very active 11-month old daughter has caused me not to be able to craft as much as I would like to. She keeps me busy and by the end of the day, I am exhausted and just want to relax.

So first, St. Patrick's Day is coming up...so I have been busy filling orders for cards for St. Patty's Day. So far, I've only been able to finish 8 St. Patty's Day cards. Here they are...

Next, I've been working on my daughter's 1st birthday invitations! I'm having a blast with this! My husband originally wanted to buy pre-made invites, but I convinced him that people now expect me to make invites, thank yous, etc....and I really wanted to be able to tell my daughter that I made her invites for her 1st birthday. It's something special that I hope she loves when she is older. Her party is going to be a cupcake theme, and with the help of a friend by letting me borrow several of her Cricut cartridges and a couple stamp sets, I was able to make these adorable invites. I am really happy with the way they are turning out! I recently ran out of brown paper, so there was a little delay in finishing the rest of the invites. A quick trip to Michael's last night and I am ready to make the rest of the cards :)

Hard to tell from the pic, but the paper is glittery :)

A side note: When we were pregnant, my husband and I took a childbirth and parenting class through our local technical college. We met a lot of really nice couples and have stayed in touch with most of them, even after the babies were born. The babies are all about 8-11 months old now, and we get together often (sometimes weekly) and have play dates. The most enjoyed days are when we all meet up at the local Children's Museum. The kiddos have a blast playing with "new/different" toys and the mommas get a chance to get out of the house and talk to adults for once :) Well anyway...now that the babies 1st birthdays are coming up (my daughter's birthday is a month away....ahh!) ...I thought it would be fun to make birthday cards for all of the babies :)

I'm so glad I was able to take a moment, while my daughter is napping, to catch up with the cards I have been making. This was a pretty long post, but I hope you've enjoyed it! Thanks for reading!

MPS: Pinkalicious Blog Hop Friday

Good evening! I was unable to join the blog hop on the day it was actually happening (Friday), so I made a point to do it today (Saturday). I've gotta give a HUGE thanks to my husband for watching our cranky, teething, 10 month old daughter so I could "get away" and craft. Separating baby from momma isn't always the easiest thing to do.

Challenge: Use black and your favorite color.  I didn't use a ton of my favorite color, which is red, but I did make sure to use a Cricut cupcake cut that had a HUGE cherry on it....YUM!
